The district administration in Indore is in the process of granting land ownership rights to residents of 29 villages that were incorporated into the municipal corporation limits. Following the expansion of the municipal corporation boundaries in 2014 to include these villages, residents or their heirs/transferees who occupy residential land without a lease can now apply for land holding rights. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav recently issued directives in a meeting held in Indore regarding this initiative.
Currently, landowners in these villages face challenges in selling their properties or securing loans for construction due to a lack of registration or lease documentation. To address this issue, eligible individuals may apply for land holding rights in accordance with a circular released by the Revenue Department on September 24, 2020. Successful applicants will be granted a 30-year lease, allowing them to facilitate property transactions and obtain loans.
Special camps will be held on September 29, 2024, at tehsil offices in Juni Indore, Malharganj, Rau, Bicholi Hapsi, and Kanadia to receive applications. Following verification, qualified beneficiaries will be awarded land holding rights leases. SDM Rau Vinod Rathore mentioned that online applications for leases will be accepted at the camps, and applicants should bring essential documents like utility bills, official correspondence related to the property, property tax receipts, and proof of residency from the 2011 census and voter list.
